Summer is the best time to get out into the mountains and photograph those beautiful clear night skies. In Washington our clear skies are few and far between, and I was very excited to go up to Mt Rainier and spend enough time to get an awesome star trail shot. There was only one downside to the night: there were some elk off in the forest, that we saw during sunset, who thought it would be fun to watch me at work all night. So branches and twigs were snapping in the distance and we had to keep telling ourselves it was just the family of elk we saw earlier.
