About Me

Kuria Jorissen - Photographer

I am a full-time photographer and have been doing astrophotography for just about 10 years now. I have always been known to star gaze and have loved camping since I was a little kid. As I grew up I went to school for photography and got my BFA with my thesis breathing life into my “Chasing the Night Sky” project. Chasing the Night Sky stemmed from my love of the outdoors, fascination with the stars, and passion for photography.

As an adventurous road warrior I am a very passionate person for road trips and State and National parks. I specialize in capturing the dazzling starscapes that the parks have to offer. From my home in the Cascades to the firefly filled hills of Virginia, I’ve captured the stars all over America.

I have had the pleasure of hanging my art at the Pacific Science Center on 50 feet of wall right when “Interstellar” was playing there. I am a photographer who loves storytelling, and I bring that passion in my work in adventure elopements, landscape, travel, editorial, and commercial photography.
